Taking a saunter down history lane, it seems the Melbourne Demons and North Melbourne Kangaroos have had a seesaw of past matchups. From Kangaroos ripping a shocking victory in early 2025, to Demons invoking some voodoo to cook a 139-point feast in 2023. Toss that into the bonfire of unpredictability.
Moving on to team records, this wouldn't exactly be the marquee match of the season, would it? The Kangaroos are barely hopping with 4 wins under their belt, while the Demons join the 'barely-there club' with just a lone victory ahead. A match of the underachievers, if you will!
Recently, our doe-eyed Kangaroos seem to have lost their punch, those 'Roos have found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreline more often than a punchline at a comedy gala. Conversely, the Demons haven't exactly been terrorizing opponents either, more like playing the role of the generous host, handing over victory bouquets left and right.
From a spherical perspective, you've got the Demons cozying up at #14 in the standings, while the Kangaroos are candy crushing their dreams at #16. This isn't exactly a match for the ages, folks. It's more about who could possibly be the least worst.
Given all of the above, it's safe to say we're strapping ourselves in for what might not be a glamourous tango, but could still be the dance-off of mediocrity. What's that they say? In the land of the blind, the one-eyed is king? Well, in this case, I'd wager on the Demons to be that one-eyed king, pulling clear from the Kangaroos parade by a safe margin, courtesy of their slightly better overall performance.
