Collingwood Magpies by 60If you're looking for a tussle like a kangaroo with a dingo, this matchup really won't be the one to place your bets on. With the Collingwood Magpies sitting comfortably on the throne and the West Coast Eagles flapping around in the wind at the bottom of the nest, this seems set to be a one-sided show.
The Magpies have been knocking their opponents out of the park this season, like some sort of sports remix of Angry Birds. Seriously, their impressive 12-2 win-loss ratio is enough to make even the most hardened AFL fan question their loyalty. They stomped on the Eagles in their past matchups like they were squashing bugs, with victories by a whopping 66 and 63 points respectively. A punt on them would be safer than a koala in a eucalyptus tree.
On the other hand, the Eagles have been flapping about clumsily like a penguin in a wind tunnel, seriously lacking when it comes to the wins department. Their recent bouts have been more disaster movie than action flick, losing four out of their last five games by pretty dismal margins.
Considering the Collingwood Magpies are about as likely to lose this matchup as a kangaroo is to win a crawl race, they're the clear shoo-ins here. But this is sport, not a predictable soap opera. Can the Eagles pull off a miracle? Well, stranger things have happened – like snow in the Outback, or a polite seagull.
Yet, putting humour aside, the numbers don't lie folks. Barring any unexpected asteroid impact or an inexplicably bad bout of bird flu hitting Collingwood, the Magpies are the clear winners here.
