The Bombers have gotten their boots muddy with a recent surge, toppling Melbourne by a considerable margin. Meanwhile, the Eagles are on a slippery slope that'd make an Olympic luge competitor dizzy. Their defeat to the Blues by a margin of whopping 71 points particularly stands out like a beanie in summertime.
In the standings, it's like watching the tortoise vs the hare story, except both are tortoises and the hare got bored and left. The Bombers are up in the 13th slot while the Eagles appear buried at the very bottom in the 18th slot.
Taking all of this into account, and after being tossed back and forth like an unloved sandwich in a lunchbox, I think the result is clear. But remember, that's what's so enchanting about this fine sport. You never can be quite sure which way the ball will bounce!
