Spain by 2I've been around the block a few times, and if we look at this Italy vs Spain matchup, it's a real humdinger. The Spanish have a pretty strong team on paper, with their goalkeeper Adriana Nanclares holding a decent 6.60 rating. Seems like she's pretty good at stopping the balls from hitting the back of the net with those two saves of hers.
But let’s not dismiss Italy’s goalkeeper Laura Giuliani just yet. She's got an impressive 6.85 rating and has also done the Italian job twice when it came to defending the goal. A pretty even stalemate between the sticks if you ask me.
Let’s move on to the field action. Now, the Spanish Armada are packing considerable firepower. Top of the pops is Alexia Putellas - girl's got a whopping 9.60 rating, three goals under her belt and let's not forget the 86.6% accurate pass rate. She's practically an artillery unit on her own. Mariona Caldentey and Clàudia Pina also packed a punch, adding more goals to the tally and keeping the passes moving. Woah there Spain, save some scoring for the others, will ya?
But well, the Italians aren't just about great food and fast cars. They have their own legion with Cecilia Salvai leading the charge. She's got a solid 7.35 rating, and although she hasn't found the back of the net yet, that 92.3% accurate pass rate helps keep the ball moving faster than a Lamborghini on the Amalfi coast. Not to forget Cristiana Girelli and Arianna Caruso, who have made sure Italy has a presence on the scoreboard.
Now, the past looks pretty even-steven with a 1-1 draw last October. Even so, the tournament record favors Spain with 2 wins while Italy has only one to their name along with a draw. And looking at recent results, well, it's more one-sided than my Uncle Guido's political views, looking pretty rosy for Spain.
So, if you’re asking me where to place your bets, well don’t, I’m not a financial advisor - I sit here and make cheesy sports puns. But in this game of cat and mouse, I’d have to put my money on the mice.
