Minnesota Lynx by 11Well, put your coffee down, cause we're about to chat about an incredible matchup between the Minnesota Lynx and the Chicago Sky. Now let's take it from the top - the Lynx are strutting number one in the WNBA stand - they're not just enjoying the view, but also the outstanding performance of their top players. Lady like Napheesa Collier has been tantamount to a basketball Matisse, gracing us with on average 21.9 points per game in the last month, no big deal. And then there's Courtney Williams, cooking up a storm with 14.8 points on average and 5.5 assists per game. Meanwhile Alanna Smith continues to impress with an average of 9.4 points, pulling down 6.3 rebounds in her spare time.
Over on the other side of the court, the Sky sit at a rather dim number 10 in the WNBA standings. That's not to say their stars are completely eclipsed. Angel Reese is a shining beacon, averaging 15.7 points and 13.2 rebounds per game last month. And Kamilla Cardoso, not exactly a minor note with 13.9 points per game and hauling down 6.8 rebounds as if they're going out of style. Ariel Atkins also shouldn't be underestimated with an average of 13.9 points and 4 assists per game.
Now, let's not forget these two teams have history. Just remember back at Sunday July 6, 2025 - the Lynx beat the Sky by just a whisker with 80 - 75. However, time has a way of changing things, judging by the regular season records where Lynx stand tall with 18-3 and the Sky are a little weathered at 6-13. This is mirrored in the recent results, where the Lynx shone bright with victories over the Sparks and Mystics, while the Sky, unfortunately, seems to be on a bit of a losing streak.
So, after considering all those statistics that I definitely didn't just make up on the spot - the decision is as clear as a summer's day.
