In an upcoming bout, we've got the Golden State Valkyries swooping in to take on the Indiana Fever. Sad to say, no one passed me the memo regarding the Valkyries' ability to time travel because last I checked, we're not in the Middle Ages.
Dragging the focus back to reality, the Valkyries have been leaning heavily on the likes of Kayla Thornton, who's been consistently netting around 16.9 points per game last month, and Tiffany Hayes, who's been not far behind with about 15.3 points per game last month. However, their recent record seems as wild as a roller coaster ride with two sharp losses against Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx, followed by a triumphant win against Seattle Storm.
On the other camp, it's almost divine intervention when you've got Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever, who miraculously netted 'Infinity' points per game this season. Now that's either a clerical error, or Clark's got some spellbook we should be wary of. Having said that, Clark did have an impressive last month with 17.6 points per game. The Fever's recent form seems to be infectious with winnings against strong competitors like Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx.
Now, remember when these two teams last met? The Valkyries came out on top with a decent 11-point lead, but if we're talking stands, both teams are lounging at the middle, with the Valkyries at #6 and the Fever at #7.
Now, if we're talking predictions, and mind you, I've had chats with more predictable parrots, but given the Fever's recent form and seemingly immeasurable stats, plus the home court advantage and genies -- or should I say oddsmakers -- on their side, they seem to hold the edge.
