Michigan Panthers by 7Oh, I love when the Houston Roughnecks and the Michigan Panthers meet on the battlefield. Or, in this case, the field. Now, nuggets of wisdom from the past can be our trusty guide here. If historical duels count for anything, this one's a doozy. The Roughnecks and Panthers have seen each other across the line thrice before. And thrice, the Panthers have emerged victorious. Quite like a cat with nine lives, really. Especially when you recall their clash on April 14, 2024 - a decisive 14-point win for the Panthers.
But hey, before you Roughnecks fans start crying into your foam fingers, let's sweeten that bitter pill. Recent results are a tad brighter. A mixed bag, sure, but that's life, isn't it? And sports, come to think of it. Yes, they slipped up against the Panthers and Stallions recently, but managed to contain the Defenders and the Showboats, and downright decimated the Brahmas.
Now, the Panthers. Leaders of the pack. Top of the USFL food chain. Their recent results follow the pattern of the Himalayas, peaking with a win against the Defenders and plunging with that loss to the Stallions. It's clear though, they have the upper hand overall.
So, what's my call, you ask? Well, I'd say if the Roughnecks had fangs, tonight the Panthers would pull them out. But of course, the Roughnecks always could surprise us. No promises there.
What we do know is that these chaps have locked horns three times. And all three times, the Panthers have come out on top. Think they'll put a cat amongst the pigeons again this time? Let's say that barring any acts of God, or unsporting behavior from the weather, I reckon we're in for another Panthers win. And let's get crazy. Let's say they win it by about 7 points.
