Michigan Panthers by 5Listen, folks, I mean, esteemed audience...we've got a juicy matchup here between the Michigan Panthers and the Arlington Renegades. Put your calculators away, because this one isn't going to require higher level mathematics to figure out.
The Panthers are on a bit of a roll, sitting pretty atop the USFL. With a record that has more wins than losses, they're not exactly slouching their way through this season. However, the recent tussle with the St. Louis Battlehawks left a bit of a dent in their shiny record. They managed to lick those wounds by decimating the D.C. Defenders afterwards.
On the other hand, we have the Arlington Renegades who, despite sitting at the #3 spot in the XFL, are hanging on by a thread. With their sad trombone performance against St. Louis most recently, and their nail-biting defeat by D.C. Defenders before that, it's clear they've been on a free-fall rollercoaster that only goes down.
Looking back at the history books, the last time these two tangoed, there was just a single point separating them. However, I'm not one to live in the past.
Comparing the recent performances of both teams, the Panthers have been scoring an average of about 30 points per game, while the Renegades...well, their scores have been like my golf game - underwhelming.
In conclusion, we might be in for a interesting clash, but the stars seem to be aligning for the Panthers to come out like kings of the jungle. If they go about their business as usual, they're likely to gnaw on the Renegades with a bit of leeway to spare.
