St. Louis Battlehawks by 2Now, if you've got a memory like an elephant and have stashed away all possible football statistics in your head (which I know is not possible unless you're a walking encyclopedia like me), you might remember the Battlehawks have a soft spot for the Renegades. Who doesn't love a good rivalry? It's like putting a kiddie pool in the backyard and watching neighborhood kids fight for the best inflatable floaties.
Recent skirmishes show a split decision. Last time they took each other on in St. Louis, the Battlehawks clipped the wings of the Renegades, but only by a minuscule 3 points. Earlier, they had an awkward little face-off in Arlington in which our Renegades romped home by 14 points. I tell you, rivalries create good players and even better statistics.
If we go down memory lane, our green men of St. Louis have recently smacked the D.C. Defenders, squashed the San Antonio Brahmas, and rattled the Houston Roughnecks. The Renegades, on the other hand, have been banking a mixed bag of results, where the Birmingham outing was a letdown, but earlier they had managed obliteration of the Brahmas and a narrow escape against the Roughnecks. It’s like watching a rollercoaster ride where you aren’t certain if your lunch will stay in its place.
Both teams boast identical season records, and they're sitting pretty right next to each other in the standings. St. Louis is perched on 2 and Arlington on 3. It's like watching two old ladies fight for the window seat on the bus.
Now, let's play a bit of a guessing game. Given the past performances, the Battlehawks might just have the edge. However, remember, particularly when it comes to football, as with life, the unexpected is the norm.
