Well now, isn't this interesting? We've got a splendid matchup on our hands. The top dogs from the USFL, the Michigan Panthers, are paying a visit to the Battlehawks nest out in St. Louis who are sitting pretty at #3 in the XFL.
The Panthers have handed some jaw-clenching victories to their opponents this season. More power to them. They even managed to grit their teeth and scrape past the San Antonio Brahmas with a narrow 26 to 23 win. I tell you, their victories weren't handed down on a silver platter but they do suggest a team on the cusp of brilliance.
Let's not forget about St. Louis Battlehawks. I suppose their recent rough play could be considered a character building exercise. I mean, they took certainly took a beating, getting the short stick against the Arlington Renegades in a 30-15 loss, and the D.C. Defenders didn't spare them either with a 27-15 victory. Not exactly the momentum you want coming into a big face-off now, is it?
So, if you're asking me, I'd put my money on those Michigan Panthers. They do appear to have more of a winning personality these days. But don't expect a blowout, folks. St Louis aren't a bunch of pushovers and they'll hold their ground.
