Bayonne by 9Alright then, feast your eyes on the Top 14 matchup we've got today between Bayonne and Vannes. This ain't no charity match, folks. It's round 24 and these teams have a history. You remember that heated affair back in December '24, don't you? Bayonne clinched it 27-21, but I tell ya, it was no walk in the park.
Now, let's see how they've fared since last we met. Bayonne's been smacking daisies with a record of 13-9-1 so far, and sitting pretty in the 4th spot, quite a sight better than Vannes, who's been floundering and trying their best not to be labeled 'Bottom Feeders of the Year.' With a 7-15-1 record, they've just managed to stake claim to the unlucky 14th spot. No crowns for guessing who's got the better momentum here.
As for recent matches, well, Vannes did manage to pull a rabbit out of their hat with that 29-19 win against Toulon, but otherwise, it's been pretty rocky, very much like a rowboat in a thunderstorm. The disappointing tie game with Perpignan being a case in point.
Bayonne, on the other hand, appears to be enjoying the roller coaster ride, narrowly missing wins against La Rochelle and Racing Metro 92. This, while tasting sweet victory against Pau and Lyon.
So, after reviewing this rolodex of statistics and past performances, if you're thinking our prediction is going to be a surprise, wake up and smell the espresso, will ya? This ain't no David vs. Goliath. And as exciting as a draw sounds, my dear folks at Las Vegas would probably pass out from shock if that happened.
