My Prediction
Bordeaux Bègles by 10Gracious me, aren't we in for a riot here with Bordeaux Bègles squaring off against ASM Clermont Auvergne. Now, Bordeaux Bègles have been having a bit of fun this season, placing themselves comfortably at #3 in our beloved Top 14, which is no small feat, dear punters. On the other hand, ASIC Clermont Auvergne seem to be just managing to keep their boat afloat, clutching at straws at #6.
Now if we were to reminisce past rendezvous between these two rugby rogues, it's been quite the seesaw with victories on both sides. However, we can't overlook the impressive win by Bordeaux Bègles last April with a spanking 41-7 win. Now that does leave a bitter memory for dear Clermont, doesn't it?
More so recently, we see Bordeaux Bègles lost a close game to Bayonne, which, let's be honest, was a commendable effort against a team perching at the Top. Clermont, on the other hand, not to be outdone on the losing games front, gave up to Toulouse, not bringing much to the table there.
In all fairness, Bordeaux Bègles has been punching quite above their weight with a stellar 11-5 record, while Clermont seems to be stuck in the middle with a 8-8. Now, we're at round 17, neither of them would like to drop the ball (pun intended).
Oh and might I add, the payout odds are kind of amusing. However, putting some sporty sense to these numbers, history, current form, and position in the standings - smart money would be on Bordeaux Bègles. So, hold onto your horses because my dough is on Bordeaux Bègles but remember, in rugby as in life, it's never over till the fat lady sings.
