Crusaders by 9Introducing the dramatic face-off between Crusaders and Queensland Reds for the Qualifying Finals. Now, these two have tangoed before and it's been a bit of a mixed bag, hasn't it? Remember the Reds stealing the show in 2024 with a 33-28 victory? Of course, the Crusaders didn't let that go and answered back with a stomping 43-19 win in 2025. Now, that's what you call an "opera of revenge".
As we shimmy over to the regular season, the Crusaders have been as dominant as a steamroller in a garden party with an 11-3 record, while the Reds have been...well...a bit more red than they would've preferred at 8-6.
Now, if we dip our toes into their recent performances, the Reds showed a tad more inconsistency than my Aunt Mabel's knitting while the Crusaders, with the exception of that cheeky loss to Chiefs, have been holding their fort rather impressively.
And to add a cherry on top, the Crusaders are seated comfortably at the number 2 spot on the Super Rugby Pacific 2025 while the Reds are holding the fort a bit lower at number 5. "Ain't no mountain high enough" is a catchy tune, but it doesn't quite apply for the Reds, does it?
So, with sweat on my brow and a twitch in my eye, I offer you this humble prediction, my friends.
