My Prediction
Chiefs by 3Ah, the excitement of rugby, folks... errr, I mean, the clash of titans is upon us as the Chiefs square off against the Crusaders. Remember, this ain't fortune telling, but here's my two cents.
Going into the first round of the season, both of these muscle-packed squads have come out of the gate guns blazing, racking up a win apiece. You'd nearly forget their last dance, where the Chiefs edged past the Crusaders 33-29, and then there was that minor hiccup the Crusaders had giving them a 37-26 victory. Deciphering this, it's a bit like trying to read tea leaves isn't it?
But, let's not discount recent results. These Crusaders ain't no pushovers, their dance card shows some fancy footwork, clocking Hurricanes, Moana Pasifika and the Blues. Sure, they slipped against the Brumbies and the Highlanders, but who hasn't tripped in their lifetime?
Chiefs, on the other hand, had a splendid outing against the Blues and Reds. No one can brush off that narrow miss against the Hurricanes or that little tumble they took with Blues, but then, you win some, you lose some, right?
Can't ignore the greased lightnin' Chiefs hold over the Crusaders in the standings, soaring high at #1. Yet, if the Crusaders are shadowing at #2, are we really comparing apples to apples here?
