What a smackdown we're looking forward to: Wolverhampton, currently underdogs, taking on a strong Brentford. Normally I'd make some joke about wolves and bees that nobody would understand, but let's talk business.
Brentford has the imposing Mark Flekken shielding the goal, with a fair 7.22 rating and 15 saves. On the other side, we'll witness a duel between José Sá and Daniel Bentley splitting duty for the Wolverhampton, got some decent gloves between them but clearly less to brag about than Flekken.
Looking at the field, Brentford has got some menacing figures. Focused on Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa, both with a rating above 7.4, they're testament to Brentford's aggressiveness. Though they don't seem to like the sight of the net too much, they're good at finding ways to put the ball inside it. Fact: Not all goal scorers like nets.
For Wolverhampton, the situation is somewhat different. Matheus Cunha seems to represent his team's best shot for scoring with a 7.65 rating and a goal to his name. Jørgen Strand Larsen is another one to watch, with two goals to his name.
Historically, it's a mixed bag. The last three face-offs have seen Brentford win once while Wolverhampton has taken two matches. So, if you have a coin you can toss to settle this matter, do it, you'll have as much luck as me.
Brentford's season so far is looking better. They stand at 16 wins, 7 draws, and 14 losses. On the other hand, Wolverhampton's record is a tad weaker: 12 wins, 5 draws, and 20 losses. Wolverhampton is not the predator it once was, it seems.
The recent matches have seen both the teams struggle a bit but Brentford showing more promise, scoring twice their opponents in their last five matches. Wolves managed to get some late growls in, but those frankly sound more like whimpers at this point.
So, in this humble commentator's not-at-all-humble opinion:
Albert’s Prediction: Brentford by 2
