Tommy Fleetwood by 1 stroke
Stop the presses! Our leaderboard's tighter than a surgeon's stitches after the 4th round at the Travelers Championship. Old Tommy Fleetwood and Keegan Bradley are sitting pretty at the top, both equal pegging with a total score of -14. That's 14 under par for those of you who've been outhit by a golf ball before. Fleetwood's recently recovered from a setback when he was cut in the U.S Open, same story for Bradley, languishing at 33rd in the same tournament. Then trailing behind is Russell Henley, boasting a -13 and a significantly better result in the U.S Open with a tweak of 10th position.
As for last year's kingpins at Travelers Championship, Scottie Scheffler won the shiny cup with an impressive -22. His performance this season doesn't have the same sheen. He's lurking at 6 under par, an unflattering gap from the frontrunners. Plus, he just made it inside the top 10 in the recent U.S. Open. Let's just put it this way, we ain't seeing a repeat of last year.
Then if we rewind to the last round - Denny McCarthy and Justin Thomas had a decent day on course, both knocking in -6 under. These fellas don't contest the top of the leaderboard, but I do give them a nod for their round score.
Now, if there's one thing my years in this business have taught me, it's that making predictions is about as safe as juggling hand grenades. But what do you know, I'm paid to make one. So, let's see, Fleetwood and Bradley are pacing the pack right now, but Henley has shown potential with his recent play. But he's trailing by a stroke so booting out the leaders won't be a golf walk in the park.
So here goes nothing:
Albert's Prediction: Tommy Fleetwood by 1 stroke.
