Scottie Scheffler by 5 strokes
Ah, the saucy spectacle of the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club's in Atlanta, Georgia. One can't help but notice Scottie Scheffler is keeping every golfer at bay - he's 26 under par, occupying the paradise palm that is the 1st position. The guy practices his golf swings more frequently than most of us change socks. His recent results might not have been groundbreaking, but come on, he's the numero uno in tour rankings.
Then we've got Collin Morikawa, second in line with a score of 21 under par. Now listen folks, Morikawa seems to enjoy playing golf than attending barbeque parties. Ranked 6th on tour, his last gig landed him 28th in the BMW Championship. Not shabby at all, but he's on Scheffler's tail like a hungry beagle on a hot dog.
Hovering somewhere in the middle, we find Sahith Theegala sitting pretty in 3rd position, shooting 17 under par. His recent performance in the BMW Championship might have been forgettable, finishing 48th, but his Tour Ranking of 15th is like a sharp cufflink on the silky suit of his career.
Turning our attention to the last round's victors, Viktor Hovland, and Shane Lowry, both posted impressive round scores of -6. And yes, tip of the curvy cap to Sahith Theegala who finished third with -5. So what does this tell us? As much as a raccoon loves shiny objects, Hovland certainly loves the greens of East Lake.
However, let's chew on something chewier - last year's results. Our guy Hovland was the marquee player, finishing with a total score of -27. Xander Schauffele came in second with -22, and Wyndham Clark ended third with -16. As delicious as these past stats are, folks, tomorrow's weather is best forecasted today.
It's a cocktail of factors, the price of a ticket to the Scheffler train is a bit rich for some. Weighing all the tees and putting all green stats in the blender, my prediction is:
Albert’s Prediction: Scottie Scheffler by 5 strokes
