Corey Conners by 2 strokes
Looking at the leaderboard after three rounds of the Procore Championship at East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia, we've got a tight match on our hands.
Patton Kizzire is currently leading the pack with a score of 18 under par. While Kizzire has been struggling on the tour as of late, sitting at a humble 252nd ranking, he certainly seems to have found his groove this week. Interestingly, statisticians and golf enthusiasts are only giving him a lukewarm reception. Perhaps the recent memory of getting cut at the Wyndham Championship got stuck in their minds. But hey, if every dog has its day, then why not Kizzire?
Sitting 4 strokes behind Kizzire, we have David Lipsky and three other golfers - Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes and Greyson Sigg, who are all at 13 under par. Special attention to Conners here, with his recent rather inoffensive performance at the BMW Championship and a tour ranking of 38th, he's one to keep an eye on.
Last round's top performers showed some impressive swings with Wilson Furr hitting an eye-popping -8, followed by Ben Silverman with a -7, and let's not forget Hughes and Conners both carding a handsome -6. Again, Conners has been consistently at the forefront, which is no surprise considering his relatively better tour ranking. I'm not saying anything, but you know where I'm leaning now, don't you?
That being said, golf's a fickle game and your "sure thing" can land in a sand trap before you can say "birdie". Predictions, as clear as they may seem, can turn out to be as elusive as a hole-in-one.
And with that in mind, I'm throwing my hat into the ring and placing my bet on...drum roll please...
Albert’s Prediction: Corey Conners by 2 strokes
