It certainly appears that the Shriners Children's Open at the beautiful East Lake Golf Club is thrilling to the core as we head into the final round. And just like a Gas Station hot-dog, it's anybody's game at this point.
J.T. Poston and Doug Ghim are currently playing a game of musical chairs for the top spot, both sitting pretty at 15 under par. Poston, ranked 63rd on the Tour, recently managed to secure a 33rd place finish at the BMW Championship. Ghim, on the other hand, isn't known for hobnobbing with the top dogs, given his Tour ranking of 148. Yet, he blew some socks off with his 25th place finish in the Black Desert Championship.
Harris English, Kurt Kitayama, Alejandro Tosti, and Gary Woodland can't shake each other, each sitting just one stroke behind our leaders at 14 under par. English, with a 73rd Tour ranking, strutted his stuff at the Black Desert Championship, securing an impressive 6th position.
While Kitayama isn't far behind, his recent 25th place is just as impressive as my Aunt's meatloaf. Tosti and Woodland seem to be while away, fulfilling the conservative expectations set by their rankings.
And let's not for a moment forget about Taylor Pendrith, Matti Schmid, Davis Thompson, and Norman Xiong, all of whom have been swinging harder than a 90s disco night, each poised at 13 under.
The top players of the last round? Oh boy, it was a fiesta. Pierceson Coody, Patrick Fishburn, Norman Xiong, Matti Schmid, Harris English, and J.T. Poston all shared the spotlight, each with a stunning round score of 6 under par. Xiong, Schmid, and English, making the double appearance, are grim reminders of why one shouldn't count chickens before they hatch.
And now, drumroll please! My fingers are crossed you didn't put grandma's pet turtle on this, because predicting this game is like doing the truffle shuffle. For the win, I'll call it - the sun is shining, the caddies are grinning, and Alex Trebek's ghost is about to hand me the money.
Albert’s Prediction: J.T. Poston by 2 strokes
