Justin Thomas by 2 strokes
Here we are, after three rounds of the RBC Heritage at the stately Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. Si Woo Kim seems to be having a whale of a time down in sunny Texas, finding himself atop the leaderboard. Can't seem to shake off Justin Thomas and Andrew Novak though, as both sit one stroke behind him at -14. And with their tour rankings being 8th and 62nd respectively, they're not to be considered lightly. I wouldn't bet my house on Kim just yet.
Staying in sight of the leaders, we've got Maverick McNealy, who's quickly becoming more than just a player with a cool name. Sitting at -13, he's only skipped a couple of shots from the top. Tommy Fleetwood and Brian Harman are also milling around, waiting for someone to make a gaffe. Man, this golf lark is tense!
Peering down from the top of last year's mountain, we've got Scottie Scheffler, who's still in the mix at -11. I suppose once you've tasted victory here, you tend to develop a liking for the place. Sahith Theegala and Patrick Cantlay, 2nd and 3rd place finishers last year, have been a bit quieter.
Looking back at the last round, a fitting golf clap for Byeong Hun An, who shot an electrifying -8. But, in this game, it’s as much about consistency as it is about the occasional show of brilliance.
Now, my dear punter, it’s prediction time: consider the consistent performances, the turf familiarity from last year, and the unyielding grit. I'd be tempted to put my money on Justin Thomas. He's proven his metal, his tour ranking of 8th is no accident, and his chase is not so far off that a birdie or two won't patch up.
Albert’s Prediction: Justin Thomas by 2 strokes
