Xander Schauffele by 2 strokesIn the run-up to the thrilling PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, let's put our magnifying glasses on the golfer roster for a little tittle-tattle. Leading the herd of old and new faces are Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Xander Schauffele, ranking first, second, and third respectively on the tour. I must say, there's some serious firepower in those swings.
Scheffler catapulted into stardom, with a recent victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. McIlroy showed promising form too with a solid 7th place in Wells Fargo Championship, while Schauffele ended up in the 11th spot. Do remember folks, there's a slim line separating the masters from the amateurs in this game.
Speaking of masters, let's roll the golf ball a bit back in time to last year's PGA Championship. Xander Schauffle certainly broke some sweat and maybe a few hearts when he clinched the championship at an impressive 21 under par. Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland were hot on his trail though, securing the second and third places at 20 and 18 under par respectively.
