Penrith Panthers by 14Ah, the great rumble in the jungle, where the Panthers are going claw to claw with the Cowboys. As we sift through the sands of time, it's apparent these teams have traded blows quite equally in past seasons. Yet, despite their matching 1-3 regular season records, there's been a notable divergence in their recent play. The Panthers, while licking their wounds from a few tough losses, have shown a modicum of grit amidst their adversity, coming within striking distance of victory in their last two bouts. The Cowboys, on the other hand, seem to have lost their lassos, having started this season on the back hoof with a palpably lackadaisical defense.
If we hark back to their history, the Panthers have often had the upper hand in scoring, and even when they've lost, it's rare to see them outscored by a significant margin. Given the slurp of their recent losing streak, I wouldn't be surprised if the Panthers used this matchup as a chance to belt out their exasperation, especially given the Cowboys' tendency to throw up the white flag early in games.
However, it's never a tea party when the Panthers take on the Cowboys, so don't expect a one-sided rodeo. I mean, we're in round five, the season is ripe and the scoreboard is hardly set in stone. Both teams are itching to climb the ladder from their respective 13th and 14th places, so expect some fired-up play on the field. But at the end of the day, based on the numbers, I've got to lean towards the Panthers here, my friends.
