Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters by 2
Alright, swing them bats and let's get ready for a good old Far East showdown between the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. We're talking Pickled Herring sushi vs Shoyu Chicken, folks. Or something like that.
Golden Eagles have been fluttering their wings recently and pecking away at their adversaries but this season sees them on a level keel with a 10-10 record. Meanwhile, it seems that the Fighters have been honing their martial arts skills with a slightly better 11-9. Oh, the intense drama!
The Fighters from The North and the Eagles from The Tohoku region have had a tumultuous past season. If we were to flash back to the days of VCR, rewind and hit play, we'd see quite a few hard fought battles. And it's clear that the Fighters have mostly come out ahead, except for that one dodgy moment back in October when they were felled with a goose egg.
So, what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? We'll just have to see. If I had a yen for every time I've been asked to predict a baseball score, I'd have enough to buy a Teriyaki McBurger meal for the whole crew.
But I digress.
The sparring Fighters have shown a distinct streak in their recent bouts, batting aside their rivals like a martial artist bats aside a wooden dummy. It won't be a walk in the Sapporo Park for the Eagles, given their rollercoaster performance. In the end, we may see a bit of a scrap but with a calculated eye, one can see that despite their fighting spirit, the Eagles may have to yield their talons to the Northern ninjas.
