And here we go, Tokyo Yakult Swallows at Chunichi Dragons. A lovely little slugfest that I'm already losing interest in. The Swallows, with their brace of wins, came up to a rough looking 7-11 record this season. The Dragons, a notch higher, gloating a colossal two-game advantage at 9-11. Groundbreaking!
Looking back at previous scuffles between these two, the Dragons and Swallows seem to hold no qualms about evenly whacking each other. Anyone's ball game really. Though recent forms dictate a different story with the Dragons having an edge over the Swallows, spotting them a solid game up from that suspense-laden 2-2 deadlock in their latest series.
Yet, somehow in this cricket league of a baseball game, the Swallows are projected to be the bully. Puzzling, right? Yeah, I think the earth just turned flat. Add to this the wonderful exhibition of the Swallows bombing runs off Erik Barnes in their game a few days ago, really eye catching. With that said, we're not looking for fairytales, a base on balls competition perhaps, fill the bases, play some happy tunes, who knows!
Now with all this nonsense out of the way, and amidst the buzzing sound of indifference, my infallible gut's gotta gut check.
