Yokohama DeNA BayStars by 2Ah, the timeless dance of the Hanshin Tigers and the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, a game that's sure to be as riveting as watching paint dry in a humid climate, am I right? Firstly, let's not beat around the bush here, the BayStars are favored to win, mainly based on figures only a mathematician could love.
Reviewing the history records, it might come as a surprise that past encounters between these two titans of throwing and catching haven't exactly been one-sided affairs. Hats off to the Hanshin Tigers for the recent win on April 22, but let's not forget the grim reminder of the drubbing they received from the BayStars back in April, nor the painful loss they suffered in October.
Looking at regular season records you'd likely lean towards the Tigers who boast a respectable 10-8 win-loss record. Whereas the BayStars are flaunting a less than stellar 6-10 score line. But then, as we know in baseball, records are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.
And now, let's turn our attention to the recent team form. The BayStars have had a bit of a mixed bag, like a potluck dinner where nobody brought the good stuff. They took a couple hits from Chunichi Dragons and Erik Barnes. Not all doom and gloom, they did manage to find a 9-run hot pot against Erik Barnes on a good day where they must've been eating their Wheaties.
Meanwhile, the Tigers have also had their ups and downs, but importantly, they managed to roar past the BayStars in their most recent encounter. But pay attention, they've been good against the weaker outfits, Hiroshima Carp and Tokyo Yakult Swallows, but lost to the BayStars when playing away on April 1st 2025.
If I were a betting man, which I could be - you don't know my life - my money would be on BayStars pulling it off, their payouts are promising and their performance vs the Tigers look good. So I predict...
