My Prediction
Carolina Hurricanes by 2Alright, let's crank the jukebox to life and take a look at what we have here! The Carolina Hurricanes are squaring off against the New Jersey Devils in this icy matchup.
The Hurricanes are getting some solid love from the net, thanks to Pyotr Kochetkov and Frederik Andersen. Those guys are blocking the puck better than a club bouncer on a Saturday night. Kochetkov has been a little shaky this month but Andersen's been standing firm at 94.3%.
On the other side of the rink, the Devils have Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen looking after their line. They're hanging in just as tight with 91.0% and 90.1% save percentages respectively. It's just like mama used to say, 'If you want to play hockey, you've gotta stop some pucks', right?
Top players for the Hurricanes include Martin Necas, with 10 goals and 17 assists, and Andrei Svechnikov with 5 goals and 7 assists, giving it quite the run. Jordan Martinook has been pretty impressive this month, with 6 goals and 4 assists.
The Devils ain't dancing alone though. Jesper Bratt firing away with 7 goals and 10 assists, and partnered up by Jack Hughes with similar numbers. Nico Hischier's also been sneaking in some points with 5 goals and 7 assists overall.
In terms of their history, Carolina has been running the table on the Devils, and the Hurricanes have shown their strength time and again. Was it something they ate? Did the equipment manager sneak an espresso machine into the locker room? Who knows!
Regular season record wise, the Hurricanes are looking a bit better shaped, with a 13-0-4 record versus the Devils' 12-2-7 record. Are we seeing a slipping Devil here? It's a slippery slope on that ice.
Looking at their recent performances, the Hurricanes have been hot, to say the least. Their last game against Philadelphia was a clean sheet, much like their game against Ottawa. The Devils, though, they got shut out by Tampa Bay, but slaughtered Florida afterwards.
So, is the devil in the details here, or are we about to see a hurricane wash over a devil or two?
In conclusion:
