Alright sports fans, let's take a gander at this upcoming matchup between the Ole Miss Rebels and the well-ranked LSU Tigers, sitting dainty at number 7 in the AP rankings.
The Rebels are no pushovers, holding an 18-9 regular season record. I've got my eyes on some standout ladies here. Starr Jacobs, even though she dialed it down a notch from last season's average, she's still bringing the heat with a decent 14.4 points per game in the past month. Madison Scott and Kennedy Todd-Williams giving some good support too, both ladies averaging a solid 10 points a game this past month.
However, the true muscle might be over at LSU's camp. Let's face it, their regular season record's 27-3. That’s some jaw-dropping performance. But it's not magic, it's Aneesah Morrow and Flau'jae Johnson, who've been raining buckets. Morrow's been particularly impressive. Not only has she been scoring a sturdy 14.4 points per game in the past month, but she's added a superhuman 15.8 rebounds per game. Johnson's not to be neglected either, 16.8 points per game in the past month isn't something you sneeze at.
Past matchups suggest the Tigers have the Rebels' number, winning the last three appearances by not insubstantial margins. Couple that with the Tigers' recent performances, where they haven't lost by more than three points even when they fail to romp home, and you start to see a pattern.
Ahem! Now to the business end of my ramblings. The prediction.
Albert’s Prediction: LSU Tigers by 7
