Ah, the thrilling saga of the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors continues. These teams have been nose to nose, face to face, and elbow to elbow. Their past match-ups have been tighter than a granny's purse string with some memorable foxtrots - a near uniform dance, if you will. But hey, isn't this dance what we're all here for?
When it comes to the Houston Rockets, Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green are like the gasoline and the spark. Sengun has been a beast in the paint, averaging 21.5 points per game while causing a whirlwind on the boards with 12.5 rebounds per game. Jalen Green, on the other hand, is jumping around the court like a kangaroo on a sugar high, putting up 22.5 points per game.
The Warriors, however, are no pushovers either. With Stephen Curry, the reincarnation of Archimedes with his angles and arcs, is delivering 25.5 points per game. The true surprise package though, is Jimmy Butler. Despite his last season average of 17.9 points per game, he seems to have thrown the past off his back and leaped into the playoffs with an average of 14 points per game. Quite impressive, if I do say so myself.
In terms of the previous battles, the Rockets had an upper hand, but hey, history is just that - history. We are not in the past, we’re in the playoffs, where everything intensifies - the pressure, the screams, and especially the sweat.
On the regular season record, the Houston Rockets have the advantage with a 52-30 win-loss record, while the Warriors are holding on to a humble 48-34. Oddly enough though, when it comes to the playoffs, both these teams have put a checkmark next to a win each.
As for the standings, the #2 Western Conference Rockets might seem to have the edge against the #7 Warriors, but underestimating the team from Golden State would be like trying to measure the depth of the ocean with a teaspoon - folly, in the grand sense.
So, who will come out on top? Well, it’s any man’s guess but with the Rockets' performance, the Warriors will have their work cut out for them. So, to put it into the common man's lingo...
