Let's slice and dice this one a bit, shall we? Miami Marlins are paying a visit to the Baltimore Orioles at the charming Oriole Park at Camden Yards. And oh, did I mention this park is good for batters? If I were a betting man, I'd keep this in my back pocket.
The Marlins will be trotting out Edward Cabrera, who boasts a solid 3.43 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and throws a decent number of punch-outs (9.5 K/9), having 15 appearances under his belt this season.
For the Orioles, Dean Kremer will be on the mound, who's been slightly less successful than our friend Cabrera with a 4.70 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 7.5 K/9. I'd wager a guess that Mr. Cabrera will be feeling a little more confident as he takes the mound.
As for team talent, the Marlins have heavy hitters like Nick Fortes, who's been burning hot with a .357 batting average, Heriberto Hernandez (.328), and Agustin Ramirez with 21 RBIs. But then again, the Orioles aren't exactly barren. They are armed with bat-swinging maestros like Gunnar Henderson (.304), the home run thumper Jordan Westburg (6) or the RBI machine Ramon Laureano (17).
Based on the team's history, it's been neck-to-neck, with scores flipping back and forth. Also, given that both teams are flaunting the same regular season record (42-50), it seems like anything can happen. But a deeper glance reveals that the Orioles have been streaking recently with some stellar results.
Guess what, folks? Expectancy favours the bold. Put a cheeky grin on your face and take a side bet on the Orioles.
