Lovers of subpar goalkeeping, you may want to tune in for this one. Patrik Carlgren and Anthony Lopes of Nantes don’t seem to get around too much with just 5 saves each, whereas Mr. Donovan Léon of Auxerre has danced with the ball 24 times in front of the net. “Catch the ball and hold it tight” might be an effective mantra for Nantes' goalies.
When it comes to court favorites, you can't overlook Nantes' Douglas Augusto, Nicolas Pallois, and Pedro Chirivella, whose pass accuracy might cut the Auxerre defence open like butter, if they could actually score goals that is. Oh, and somebody might want to tell Nathan Zeze that wearing the jersey does not constitute a full performance.
On Auxerre's side, we see Lassine Sinayoko and Gaëtan Perrin stepping up to contribute goals. I'm sure Sinayoko might have given a few goalies some sleepless nights. Meanwhile Jubal and Ado Onaiwu need to up their performance under the spotlights, this isn't a Sunday league, boys.
Looking at past encounters, Nantes has shown they clearly don't believe in sharing and prefer to come home gloating with a win under their belt. I tell ya, some people's children!
Given the regular season records, it's like comparing a one-legged duck with a two-legged one. The two-legged one is going to have a much smoother ride around the pond. Auxerre is definitely the two-legged duck here!
Then there's the recent results. I don't know about you, but when I see a tie, I'm thinking crocheting squares, not football. Nantes has been tying up their games like a knitting circle. Auxerre, however, clearly believes in giving their fans a roller-coaster of ups and downs, but at least they're not leaving everyone hanging in suspense.
