Kashima Antlers by 1Oh boy, we have quite the match up here with the Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Kashima Antlers knocking heads. Now, fans of stats will love that Kashima's goalkeeper, Tomoki Hayakawa, has been hotter than a toaster oven, boasting a 7.15 rating and 10 saves. His counterpart, Keisuke Osako, on the other hand seems to be sleeping on the job with only 4 saves and a 6.80 rating.
The Antlers come to our little soirée with Léo Ceará, Naomichi Ueda and Yuma Suzuki as their first-class armada. Léo, in particular, has been knocking socks off with a 7.42 rating and 4 goals. For Sanfrecce, Sho Sasaki and Yotaro Nakajima are the men to watch, with Sho leading the waltz with a 7.53 rating.
Now, a trip down memory lane reminds us that previous rendezvous between these two teams have been quite feisty. Just last year in September, they finished neck-and-neck with a score of 2-2. If we rewind a little more, back in May, well, the Antlers showed Hiroshima who's boss with a 3-1 victory.
This season, so far, is looking more cheery for the Antlers as they sit on a solid 5-1-1, while Sanfrecce seems to have misplaced their mojo at 3-2-1. If you look at recent results, Kashima seems to be on the upswing, while the Hiroshima side have been less consistent.
So, where does that leave us, my dear fans? In the land of "should have, could have, would have," I'd say be prepared for some deer antler victory dances.
