You've got to admit, Ajax boasts some strapping lads in goal. There's Matheus rating a stable 6.50 with 5 saves under his belt, not quite superhero status, but waving from the sidelines. Then we've got Remko Pasveer, inching behind at 6.40 with 3 saves, clearly not sitting on laurels. However, Groningen's solitary sentinel between the posts, Etienne Vaessen, is a number to be reckoned with, having a robust 7.12 rating and whopping 16 saves.
Let's hitch a ride to the feisty strikers then, shall we? Ajax's charismatic ensemble boasts a roaster more diverse than a box of assorted doughnuts. Steven Berghuis, Josip Šutalo, and Jordan Henderson are having a grand 'ole time, with ratings hovering the sunny side of 7. Although goals are meagre, the boys sure have a knack for shot accuracy. For Groningen, however, it's a much simpler, cut, and dry story. Luciano Valente and Stije Resink dominate the pack, with Resink pocketing 3 goals himself.

FC Groningen might have had a bit of a tumble during the regular season with 10-8-14, but if we learned anything from David and Goliath, it's to never dismiss the underdog. Meanwhile, Ajax paraded with 23-5-4, sipping victory like aged brandy.
