Montreal Alouettes by 7In a classic Canadian Football matchup, The Toronto Argonauts are sailing into Montreal to challenge the Alouettes. Well, if there were one word to describe the Argonauts' performance this season, it would be...underwhelming. With a regular-season record of 1-4, they're more like a rubber dinghy than a formidable Argonauts ship. Their most recent bottom loss against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, with a resounding 51 to 38 has left their confidence more bruised than my ego after that last game of golf.
On the other hand, the Montreal Alouettes seem to be flying high in comparison with a semi-respectable 3-2 record. Their recent performance has been a bit jittery, like my temperament when there's no coffee, with a heart-shattering 1-point loss against the BC Lions. However, the Alouettes did manage to pluck some victory feathers against the Edmonton Elks and Ottawa Redblacks, which may give them some extra confidence heading into this game.
In considering the past encounters, it's like watching a romantic melodrama where the lead characters can't decide if they love or despise each other. Still, the Alouettes, maybe riding on that love part, had the upper hand in the most recent showdown, deftly outplaying the Argonauts, 28 to 10.
Finally, although the Argonauts currently hover at the third position in the East Division while the Alouettes perch on the second, I'd say the Alouettes may get to keep their nest untouched. In short, I believe it might be prudent to keep the victory parade on hold if you're an Argonauts fan.
