Pull up a chair and grab your beverage of choice because we've got the BC Lions heading to take on the Edmonton Elks and this one promises to be a real nail-biter.
We're seeing some interesting dynamics play out here. Those feisty Lions have had a bit of a seesaw affair in recent weeks with a 2-3 record, presumably because they're too busy admiring their own reflection in the water from atop a mountain somewhere in British Columbia. On the other hand, the Elks have been trudging along with their bulky antlers through a 1-3 record this season, just hanging there at the bottom of the West Division standings like old party decorations that nobody bothered to take down.
As for when these two have met in the past, the numbers tell us a little story. Either the Lions confused the Elks with a pack of disgruntled garden gnomes or something else entirely was going on considering they've snatched victory 4 times in the last 5 meetings. A quick scan of the recent games suggests that the Lions probably have a bit more of that winning spirit at present, given their recent victory over the Alouettes.
Now, as much as I'd like to see the Elks pull off a Moose Miracle here, because who doesn't love a little underdog magic, facts are facts and numbers are numbers. I predict the BC Lions will chew up the Edmonton turf and come out on top.
