Montreal Alouettes by 6Alright then, let's talk turkey regarding this Canadian Football bout. We've got the BC Lions crossing over the Rockies to take on the Montreal Alouettes.
If we flip open the history book, our old friend “memory” seems to favor the Lions in past showdowns with the Alouettes. I mean, it's clear as the winters are icy up north, the Lions have had the Alouettes' number with blowout wins, even on Montreal turf.
But lately, the Lions have been about as consistent as maple syrup on a pancake... runny and all over the place. Posting a humble 1-3 record this season, their window of confidence might be a bit foggy. It might be a good time to remember that old proverb, “pride comes before a fall.”
Conversely, the Montreal Alouettes are strutting about with a 3-1 record. So, a bit more wind under their wings, it would seem. Plus, they've got the cozy confines of their own nest to fall back on. Of course, history’s a fickle friend, and the Alouettes’ recent hiccup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats could be a cause for pause. A little stumble or a sign of cracks in the armor?
Considering the Lions' recent lack of roar and the currently high-flying Alouettes, the Lions might need to borrow some of that famous Montreal charm to come out on top.
