Montreal Alouettes by 3Alright, let's slice this up like a Thanksgiving turkey. First off, we're looking at a matchup between the Montreal Alouettes and the Ottawa Redblacks. Now, these Montreal folks are coming in as the favoured child, maybe it's the charming accents, or maybe it's the fact they've had the Redblacks' number of late. Looking at the recent history, our Canadian friends have swapped more wins and losses than hockey pucks, with Montreal coming out on top in each of the past five meetings.
Now, tit-for-tat history aside, let's consider the start of this season: The Alouettes, they come out of the gate like a goose in flight, with a win under their belts already. The Redblacks, on the other hand, looked about as steady as a one-legged duck in their season opener, and sadly took a loss.
Another feather in the Alouettes' cap is their current perch at the very tippy-top of the East Division, looking down on all the other teams, including our dear Redblacks. Though it's still early in the season, the Alouettes have started off in the pole position, and I doubt they'll be looking to give up that spot anytime soon.
If we take a quick gander at each team’s recent output, the Alouettes look like they've had a few too many servings of poutine; tasty but heavy, with some wins, but also some losses stinking up the joint. But overall, their victories reek less than the losses of the Redblacks who've had their fair share of stumbles.
