My Prediction
BC Lions by 1Ah, the Canadian clash of the day, folks, I mean... not folks. The Edmonton Elks will be hanging out with the BC Lions on the Lions' home turf. These teams have had their ups and downs in the recent past, decidedly making them as unpredictable as a pancake cook-off.
Looking at their history, we can say the Elks and Lions have been playing a seesaw game with each other, swapping wins and losses like nobody’s business. But the Lions do have a touch of superiority when it comes to their home ground. Maybe it's the cheering crowd or the top-notch hot dogs, who knows. Their last meeting, however, turned things around a bit with the Elks trumping the Lions on their home ground. So, it's kind of a toss-up, like choosing between diet and full-flavored soda.
Turning our eyes to recent performances, the Elks have managed to keep their spirits high with a couple of victories. But here's the rub – their losses reveal some inconsistency. They are a bit like the indecisive person at the checkout line, wavering between brands of cereal, picking one and then dropping it for another. On the other side, the Lions have also had a mixed bag of results recently. They've experienced a rough tumble with the Roughriders but also savored the sweetness of victory against the Alouettes and Stampeders.
Now, I wouldn't bet my mother-in-law's favorite chihuahua on this one, but if you pushed me into a corner, I'd have to say Edmonton Elks just might cover the ground and sneak out a victory. However, considering the BC Lions' pride at stake and home advantage, one might tilt the prediction by a hairline towards the Lions.
