Bayer Leverkusen has a couple of stalwarts minding the net. Matěj Kovář and Lukáš Hrádecký, both proud owners of decent save rates. On the other team, RB Leipzig has Péter Gulácsi who has been a tad less impressive.
But a match isn't won by goalkeepers alone, isn't it? Bayer Leverkusen is peppered with top notch talent, with special mention to Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka and Alejandro Grimaldo. On the contrary, RB Leipzig's beacon of hope shines in the name of Xavi Simons, Willi Orbán and Kevin Kampl.
As for history class for today, the face-offs between these two teams present a rather mixed bag. Previously, we've seen the scales tip both ways, and the winds of fortune don't seem to favor one over the other.
Looking at the regular season record, Bayer Leverkusen definitely presents a stronger case with fewer losses and more victories under their belt. Moreover, their recent results also hint at their superior form with a string of wins in the bag. On the other hand, RB Leipzig seems to be having a rough time with a bit of mix-and-match results.
