My Prediction
Cruzeiro by 2Ah, what a scrumptious matchup we have today between Cruzeiro and Mirassol. The real decision-makers, ladies and gentlemen, are going to be those men between the sticks. Cruzeiro's guardian of the goal, Cássio, scored a pretty respectable 7.34 rating last season with 93 saves. Mirassol's Walter though, he outdid Cássio in the saves department, with a total of 130, finishing his season with an impressive 7.22 rating.
Now let's shift our focus to the players who generally get all the headlines. The gents running with the ball. For Mirassol, better keep your eye on Reinaldo. His last season gave us a 6.99 rating and 3 commendable goals. And let's not forget Clayson, who outscored his teammate with 5 goals, even though overall, his 'shine in the spotlight' rating was slightly lower at 6.78.
Sailing over to the Cruzeiro crew, Matheus Pereira truly distinguished himself with a 7.50 rating and bagged 8 goals to boot. Not too shabby, if I do say so. Then there's Yannick Bolasie, who matched Pereira goal for goal, but had a slightly lower rating.
Last season, Mirassol wasn't even on the Série A radar - an elusive ghost, if you will. Cruzeiro, on the other hand, had a mixed bag of a season - 14 wins, 14 losses, and somehow managed to squeeze in 10 draws. More recently, they've been an inconsistent lot - winning some, losing some, and often sharing the spoils with their opponents.
Given these figures, forecasts, and astrology, well... not really astrology, but you get the idea, I'd say...
