Juventude by 1Oh, what a fine day in the world of Brasileiro Série A! We're looking at a scrapper between Botafogo and Juventude. A fantastic opportunity for dry humor and some possibly valuable predictions.
Botafogo have been deemed favorites, and their goalie, John Victor, has been putting up pretty solid numbers on the pitch with a 7.20 rating. However, imagine my raising eyebrow when I tell you that his counterpart at Juventude, Marcos Miranda, beats him with a 7.70 rating, and 5 saves. Remember, never underestimate the guy with the gloves.
Checking out the field players, Botafogo seem a little sluggish. Yes, yes, Igor Jesus is the standout with a 7.70 rating and Jair Paula isn't far behind, yet the goal stats are looking as barren as my neighbor's front lawn. For Juventude, Gabriel Taliari is making some noise with his 8.70 rating, and two others are nestling comfortably above 8.
Enough with the current, let's look at the past. Last time these two teams crossed swords, I hope you didn't bet on Botafogo because they tripped on a 3-2 defeat to Juventude. Earlier, however, they made short work of them with a 5-1 victory.
Juventude's recent results got my eyebrows doing the tango, with solid wins, while Botafogo-wise, it's been a bit of a mixed bag, lots of yawns with a few sparks.
Even the regular season record swings toward Juventude with a lovely 'one' sitting in their win column, while Botafogo are stuck in romantic territory, with one draw and no wins. But then again, one swallow doesn't make a summer now does it?
Well, even my dog could sniff out the prediction here. He's actually quite the gambler.
