Ceará by 1Look here, if you're placing bets today, you're wandering across a veritable tightrope – a Série A matchup between Ceará and Grêmio. Fresh from the calculator fields, Ceará, slightly favored here, carries the net with Bruno Ferreira; keeper's got a decent 7.20 rating with 5 saves. On the other side, though, Grêmio pulls out Tiago Volpi with an 8.50 rating, yet with only 6 saves. Edge of your seat kind of scenario.
The cast of top players on each team will have you biting your nails down to stubs. Take Grêmio. Edenilson with a neat 7.40 rating, tempting with 1 goal and an 83.3% passing accuracy. Then there's Matías Arezo. Not any less intimidating, rated at 7.3, manages to land 2 shots on goal. Can't forget Francis Amuzu, exhibiting a similar 7.3 rating, no goals yet but a passing accuracy of 84.6%. That’s like slicing bread with a very sharp knife, oh it is indeed.
Ceará's not far behind though. They've sported the likes of Dieguinho, with an impressive 8.2 rating, no goals this season but a near impeccable 88.9% pass accuracy. Marllon, the 7.5 wonder, gifts us a goal and 79.2% passing accuracy to wash it down. Let's not mistake Pedro Raul, who, despite a 7.1 rating, harbors 1 goal this season. Like watching a game of chess with boxing gloves on.
Season records aren't doing big favors either. Grêmio is searing at 1-0-0 while Ceará seems content to sit at their 0-1-0 spot. Simmering but not quite rolling boil yet.
Recent match outcomes are as clear as London fog. Grêmio, dealing with a cosmic yo-yo situation, managed to snatch a win against Atlético Mineiro recently after losing enigmatically to Corinthians. Ceará, on the flip side, seems to be in a permanent state of stalemate, with recent matches against Red Bull Bragantino and Cuiabá all resulting in draws.
So, there it is, the lay of the land. Short of consulting a magic 8-ball, this isn't exactly an open-and-shut case. Regardless, in the spirit of sticking my neck out there, my coins lay poised pretty precariously.
