Cobolli in straight sets.
Let's have a little chit-chat about this Wimbledon Round of 16 match up. We've got Marin Cilic versus Flavio Cobolli. Now, I'm not in the business of favoring anyone, but stats here paint a very vivid picture.
Flavio Cobolli is sitting pretty at tournament seed 22, whereas Marin Cilic is... well, he's just hitting the ball really. Past meetings between these two tennis mavens seem to have Flavio casting a rather dark cloud over Marin. They've locked horns twice with Flavio taking both encounters giving Marin a masterclass, and not in the friendliest of manners I might add.
Recently, Cobolli's been looking sharper than a butcher's knife, slicing through his opponents like a hot knife through butter. However, he did suffer a minor hiccup at the hands of Fearnley and Zverev, but hey, even the Mona Lisa isn't perfect.
Cilic on the other hand, has been finding his groove but still seems like a groovy old grandma on a Saturday night. His recent victories have displayed some grit, but I'm afraid spaghetti without sauce is still pretty bland.
So if we're discussing who's going to bag the prestigious victory in this round, I'd say machinery is favoring the Italian Stallion, Cobolli. I can hear Cilic fans sighing, but hey, sometimes love means zero in tennis.
Albert's Prediction: Cobolli in straight sets.
