My Prediction
Shelton in straight sets.They say the grass is always greener on the other side, but when it comes to Wimbledon, the grass is only greener where Ben Shelton plays. It's amusing how he's considered the 10th seed and yet seems to steamroll his opponents, serving up nothing but love. His recent results paint the picture of a dominant player on the court, shutting out Hijikata and Bolt in glorious fashion, regardless of a few stumbles that happened earlier in June.
On the other side of the net, we have Marton Fucsovics who resembles a fighter more than a tennis player, surviving more stretches than a rubber band. Fucsovics likes to keep the suspense high, pushing his matches to the limit, but it's not what you'd call a strategy for long-term success. He's unseeded here, which doesn't come as a surprise, and he's been inconsistent compared to Shelton's rock-solid performance.
Reading the tea leaves here and I must say that victory, like a well-aged wine, might just be Shelton's to open. A man who seems to have found his comfort zone on the grass court, while Fucsovics - bless his heart - seems to be perpetually stuck in survival mode.
