By the tennis gods, buckle in because we've got a clash of titans, or at least a clash of one titan and one bloke who's more like a minor mountain troll. We've got Tommy Paul, the number 2 seed, lined up against Daniel Evans who, let's be honest, wasn't even seeded in this tournament. Like a tiny pea in a massive pod, our Evans is.
Looking at their recent records, Paul has been romping through his matches like a bull in a china shop, smashing everyone in his path. Lost a game to Alcaraz, sure, but it didn't stop him from GRANDly SLAMming previous opponents: Popyrin, Khachanov, Fucsovics, Moeller - all falling like dominoes.
Evans - well, poor Daniel - he's bobbing along, winning some, losing some. Fell to Nakashima, took out Kecmanović. Hard to predict this guy's game, like trying to juggle custard - it's all over the place!
We're nowhere near the playoffs, but might as well mention that if we were, Paul would still be kicking posterior and taking names.
So, here we are, my prediction. Consider this the investment advice you never asked for. Tommy Paul's got the upper hand. That doesn't mean Evans is going sit in the corner wearing a dunce cap - he'll put up a bit of a fight.
Albert’s Prediction: Paul in 3 sets.
