Nakashima in 3 sets. Who knows, at this rate, we might even see him sing an aria of love. Now, wouldn't that be something for a sports opera!
Ah, Stuttgart is serving us an interesting one, isn't it? I mean, look at our competitors today - on one side of the net, we've got Brandon Nakashima, 6th seed and favored by the bookies. Quite the player when he's not busy surrendering to his opponents, isn't he? On the flip side, we've got Jacob Fearnley - unseeded, sure, but steadily coming about his own.
Now, Nakashima's recent streak might put you in two minds. Our lad here has been doing the tango with victory and defeat - one day he's in love with win, the next he's cuddling with loss. It's like watching one of those on-and-off TV romances. Only that Navone and Darderi aren't exactly love interests. His zero-zero wins though have me scratching my head. Maybe, he's mastered the art of winning without breaking a sweat (or serving a set).
Fearnley on the other hand, unseeded as he may be, has his own charm on the court. He's had a taste of love from both ends of the spectrum - here's a man who has basked in the glory of a straight set win against Wawrinka, but was served love by Norrie. This lad plays love like its hot potato.
But we all know Stuttgart likes a player with a bit of a ranking attached to their name. So, considering Nakashima is not entirely out of the groove and is the 6th seed, I'm placing my imaginary (and probably worthless) bet here.
So, ladies and gents, drumroll please! Albert’s Prediction: Nakashima in 3 sets. Who knows, at this rate, we might even see him sing an aria of love. Now, wouldn't that be something for a sports opera!
