My Prediction
Shelton in 3 sets.Looking at this matchup, we have Ben Shelton pitted against Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Now Shelton is a bit of a powerhouse, seeded 3, and he seems to have captured the hearts of the bookies despite a bit of a stumble lately... I mean, his recent results read like a rollercoaster narrative, doesn't it? Three recent defeats, but when he wins, he likes to do it with a bang! Those 3-0s are too pretty to ignore.
On the other side of the court, we have Herbert, who has been dishing out more bagels than a bakery. The guy's unseeded and seems to have a nose for pulling through on those close encounters, takes them as they come. Although it looks like Fonseca was a bit too hot to handle. Not to rub salt in the wound, but a straight set loss stings, doesn't it?
But here's the thick and thin of it - trends are sustainable, until they are not. I'd say Shelton might just pull through, after all, he's seeded 3 for a reason, isn't he?
