Lehecka in straight sets.Let's dive headfirst into this headliner. We've got young gun Jiri Lehecka up against the unseeded, but undeniably feisty, Benjamin Bonzi. This is a bit like comparing a prime steak to a hot dog, no offense to the Bonzi fans out there.
Bonzi's been showing some spark lately, extinguishing Passaro in four sets and icing Goffin in a love-setting spectacle. But, he got dusted off by Kecmanović in two straight sets just a week back. Inconsistency is to Bonzi what kryptonite is to Superman, folks.
Let's swivel over to Lehecka. The lad hasn't dropped a single set recently. That's confidence as sturdy as a granite benchtop. The cherry on top, Lehecka is the 24th seed. That's like comparing a bicycle to a Ferrari.
Considering they're battling it out at Melbourne Park, on the hard surface, one would expect speed to play a factor. From what I've seen, Lehecka plays as if he's got a jetpack on his back. We all know how Bonzi dances about on the court, but here, in these conditions, Lehecka might just have the edge.
Well, if somebody forced me to put my house on it, I'd say the smart money is on Lehecka. He seems to have less love for his opponents than a mother-in-law, and so I would go with him.
