Draper in 3 sets.Let's deep dive into this round of 64 Internazionali d'Italia matchup between Jack Draper, the big shot and Luciano Darderi, the underdog.
The past doesn't lie folks-- or more specifically, the last time these two players met, with Draper raking in 2 out of 2 head-to-head contests. Now I'm not a math wizard, but I do believe zero translates to 'love' in the game of tennis. So, based on past meetings, Darderi hasn't shown any love on the court when up against Draper.
Recent performance? Well, Darderi seems to be riding a roller coaster - winning one and then taking a hit. Sure, he managed wins against Yunchaokete and Halys but then lost to Tiafoe and Shelton. Reliability doesn't seem to be his middle name.
On the contrast, Draper seems to have stumbled just once recently against Ruud, but like a true comeback kid, he clawed back, securing wins over Musetti, Arnaldi, Paul, and Berrettini. Seems like a guy you might want to put your faith - and probably your money on.
Draper scores more brownie points on his seeding. He's been given the fifth seed, which most people dream of in their childhood. Darderi, I guess, is still dreaming as he remains unseeded.
