Oh, what a delightful matchup we have here! Ladies and gents, it's the Brisbane Lions going hoof-to-hoof against the Western Bulldogs. Aligning our stars and previous match records, the Lions have historically sent the Bulldogs home with their tails between their legs. The records from 2023 onwards show a significant advantage for the Lions, pointing to a potential continuation of this trend. I mean who can forget the Lions' glorious 118-97 victory over the Bulldogs back in 2025? Bliss!
The Bulldogs, dear friends, stand at 10-7 this season and find themselves 9th on the AFL ladder, presumably working on their doggy paddle. Their recent performance has been somewhat of a roller coaster ride with an assortment of wins and losses. Admirable, especially their 134-85 trouncing of North Melbourne. However, it's far from being 'Top dog' material.
Our feline friends, on the other hand, are on a tear this season with a 12-4-1 record that has them comfortably lazing at number 2 in the standings. Every now and then, they do trip on the yarn ball, as could be seen from the loss to Greater Western Sydney, admittedly. But come on, a cat with 9 lives? They bounce back hard!
In the spirit of round 19, with the AFL finals only a magnificent leap away, I'm putting my (non-existent) money on the lions to roar away to another victory. So, with that delightful illustration of AFL mastery, here's my prediction.
