Port Adelaide Power by 42
Well, put your glasses on folks - this is no David and Goliath match. If past performances are anything to go by, we’re looking at a one-horse race. North Melbourne Kangaroos may have a few extra hops in their strides with that chip and snag-scented air wafting from the grandstand, but their performances have been less than kangaroo-like recently. Port Adelaide Power, on the other hand, is high on volts and showing no signs of short-circuiting soon.
When examining the hieroglyphics of past matchups, Port Adelaide has played the part of the ancient Pharaoh, burying the Kangaroos in a sandstorm, most recently by 59 and 70 points. Channeling my inner Nostradamus, I foresee a similar outcome here.
Despite both teams having more ups and downs than an out of control pogo stick this season, Port Adelaide holds a respectable mid-table position, while North Melbourne languishes in the cellar, possibly sipping a cheap Shiraz.
Checking their recent form is revealing. North Melbourne took a beating from Carlton, while Port Adelaide Power zapped Sydney. If Port Adelaide’s performance was an energizer bunny, North Melbourne was more the tortoise than the hare.
Finally, we must remember this is round seven folks, that's right, we're nearing the hump of the regular season, not the time for fairy tales or miracles. Anything can and often does happen in footy, but poor old North has been serving more roast than a Melbourne comedy show.
So, buckle up, dust off the vuvuzelas, and prepare for an electrifying match.
